When will Trial ($10) and Business ($100) launch?
Pro at $35/month is the only plan available today. It
unlocks the full platform with no feature gating.
Trial ($10/mo, 1-month bounded access) is built around
smaller resource caps so new users can try the full experience without
committing to Pro. It auto-converts to Pro at the end of the trial unless
cancelled.
Business ($100/mo) adds BYOK as the cost-saving path for
heavy premium-model use, all six cloud integrations simultaneously, a
priority MCP request lane (dedicated capacity), faster Drive sync, and
higher per-response token limits.
Both ship soon. Email

to be notified when either goes live.
What does $35/month include?
Everything: full platform access, cloud integrations, Knowledge Graph,
Deep Memory, the complete MCP tool suite, dashboard with multiple
search modes, the AI Assistant with approximately 200 queries per day,
and base AI models at no extra cost. Premium frontier models are
unlocked with your own API key — pay your provider directly, no
markup from us. Storage for documents, chunks, files, and saved
conversations is included. Daily query limits are approximate and
may be adjusted to maintain service quality.
What's the platform fee on AI usage?
Every AI call that consumes credits (i.e. calls beyond your
included daily quota, where you're paying from a credit pack)
is billed at the provider's wholesale price plus a
platform fee of around 30%.
Example: if OpenAI charges us $0.10 for a GPT-4o call, we
charge $0.13. All amounts are rounded up to the nearest cent.
Your billing logs page shows the exact breakdown for every
charge — provider cost, platform fee, total — so
you can verify the math on any line.
What the fee covers: infrastructure (the
database, vector store, KMS encryption, S3 storage, the API
servers), product development (the Knowledge Graph, dual-path
verification, integrations), and support. It is not a
margin-maximizing number; it's the smallest fee that keeps the
business solvent at our current scale.
Same rate, every tier: the platform fee is
the same across Trial, Pro, and Business. We considered tiered
markup (lower fees at higher tiers, the industry default) and
rejected it: the same call should cost the same dollar amount
regardless of which plan you happen to be on.
The zero-markup alternative: Bring Your Own
Key (BYOK). When you connect your own OpenAI / Anthropic /
Google / Groq / xAI / Perplexity key, those calls are billed
directly by your provider on your provider account — we
charge $0 in credits for them. Settings → BYOK has the
full provider list.
Free queries stay free. Base-model calls
within your daily quota are not charged at all — no
provider cost passed through, no platform fee, no credit
debit. The platform fee only applies once you exceed the
included quota and start drawing from a credit pack.
Who pays for BYOK calls?
When you bring your own API key (BYOK), you are billed
directly by the provider — OpenAI, Anthropic,
Google, etc. PraqtorDB does not charge credits for BYOK calls
and has no visibility into your provider billing. Any charges
from the provider are between you and the provider.
BYOK fires only on calls that would otherwise charge
credits — premium models or queries beyond your
daily quota. Free base-model queries within your daily quota
remain free; your BYOK key is not consumed for them. This keeps
your provider bill aligned with the savings you expected when
setting up BYOK.
PraqtorDB's role with BYOK is to encrypt your key (AWS KMS with
per-workspace EncryptionContext), audit every decryption, and
route the call so the response comes back into your knowledge
base — same UX as platform-key calls, just without the
platform fee. You manage the upstream account; we never see
your invoices.
If your BYOK key is rejected (revoked, expired, wrong project),
we fall back to the platform key for that single call so the
request still succeeds, debit credits as usual, and flag the
response with "Your BYOK key was invalid; charged from credits
this time." Update the key in Settings → BYOK to use it
again.
What's the difference between base models and BYOK premium models?
Base models are fast, capable AI models included with
your subscription — available in the dashboard at no extra cost,
within the daily limit.
BYOK premium models are frontier-tier models from
major AI providers, unlocked by adding your own API key in
Settings → BYOK. Pay your provider directly; no extra
charge from us. Keys are encrypted with AWS KMS and audit-logged on
every decryption.
What are credit packs, and when would I use them instead of BYOK?
BYOK is the cheapest path to premium models — you
pay your provider directly with no markup from us. Most technical users
prefer it.
Credit packs ($10 / $25 / $50) are an optional
alternative for users who'd rather have one bill from us than manage
multiple provider accounts. Buy a pack, use it across any model we
support, see how many queries you have left at any time. Each
pack includes a platform fee that covers the upstream billing we
handle for you. Credits also cover base-model queries beyond your
daily limit.
Every pack page shows approximate query counts per model so you know
what you're getting before you buy. Counts are approximate; actual
usage varies with prompt length and conversation depth.
Are credit packs refundable? Do they expire?
Unused credits roll over month to month and never expire while your
subscription is active.
If you cancel your subscription, any unused credit balance is
automatically refunded to your original payment method at the end
of your billing period. No support ticket needed.
Refunds target the most recent credit-pack purchases first. Charges
older than approximately 175 days fall outside the upstream
payment processor's refund window; in that rare case we contact
you directly to arrange the refund manually.
Is my data secure?
Yes. All data is encrypted at rest with AWS KMS, with per-workspace
keys. Connections run on TLS 1.3 in transit. Each customer's documents
live in an isolated database schema — there's no cross-tenant access,
ever. BYOK provider keys are KMS-encrypted, audit-logged on every
decryption, and never written to logs.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep full access through the end of your current billing period —
you've paid for that month. After the period ends, your data is
preserved for 90 days. Resubscribe any time in those 90 days and
you're back in instantly with every document, note, and conversation
intact. No data is deleted in that window.
Can I run this for my team?
One plan covers one user, one workspace. Multi-user team plans with
shared workspaces, admin controls, and SSO are on the roadmap and
shipping in a future release. If you need a team plan today, email
us — we're prioritizing based on real demand.
